You want to start your own handmade business selling your crafts. And I want to help.
I'm not going to tell you I'm an expert in all things Etsy. I'm not going to sell you a "masterclass" on how to run a business. I won't boast I'll make you rich or guarantee you 10,000 sales. But I have had my Etsy shop for over 5 years and I've hit a couple milestone sales markers along the way, so I feel like I kind of have an idea of what I'm doing.
One of the most daunting things about starting your own handmade business is just knowing where to begin. There is so much information out there, most of it differing opinions on what's right and wrong, that it's hard to know what to focus on first. So I want to help you out. I want to start from the very beginning of your handmade business and help you work through the scary unknown parts so you can be on your way to greatness! I'll focus on Etsy mostly, because it's the platform I know best, but a lot of the tips I'll give will be about starting a business in general, so it will be helpful no matter whether you sell on Etsy, your own site, or in person. We'll cover things like coming up with a business name and finding your target market to setting up your actual shop and listings on Etsy. There's a lot to cover, and I'm going to try my best to be as comprehensive as possible so you can get your shop up and running with confidence!
If there's ever a topic you want me to cover or any questions you have that you'd like an answer, feel free to drop me a message on my contact page! I'd be happy to answer it in an upcoming post!
